System and School Technology Surveys
Background
Over the past nine years, federal and state funds have advanced the effective use of educational technology in Louisiana classrooms. As a result, technology-rich classrooms provide opportunities for students to learn and teachers to teach in new and exciting ways.
As in other areas of educational reform, accountability is critical. Thus, an additional challenge for all involved in educational technology is to provide other educators and policymakers with information and data relative to the types of technologies used; the extent to which technology is integrated into the curriculum; the proficiencies and practices of students, teachers, and administrators; and, the extent to which local system and school technology plans are implemented.
All school systems (public and diocesan, and special state schools) and all individual schools (public and non-public) that receive state and/or federal technology funding are required to complete the statewide technology reporting instruments.
